The Crew

The captain owns the ship and so makes the final decisions. Within the game the captain is the only crewmate who can visit the System Map to talk with other captains and to track the flight of the ship.

The captain also decides on the split of the budget each turn for other crewmates to use.

The pilot can take the ship to its limit (and sometimes past it!) to chase or evade enemies or security.

Within the game the pilot has to make any check or challenge when it comes to the flight or combat of the ship. They're also in charge of making sure the ship has enough fuel to keep it flying.

The engineer makes sure the ship has the power needed to fly, weapons needed to defend itself and the storage space needed to carry whatever the captain wants it to carry.

Within the game the engineer is in charge of research, upgrades, repair and offering their skills for credits.

The muscle is there to do the dirty work so that no-one has to...and often so that no-one even needs to know it's being done.

Within the game the muscle will be chasing bounties, mining moons, roughing up potential leads and definitely brooding.

The face of the crew is the smooth talker, the one who can get a good deal or find a lead using words and carousing rather than brute force.

Within the game the face will be making deals, chasing up on leads and purchasing supplies and goods. Often playing good/bad cop with the muscle!
